Beautiful limited edition print entitled “Ireland’s Teardrop, Fastnet Lighthouse”.
The following description note from the artist is on the back of this Irish print:
“Fastnet Lighthouse”
Fastnet Lighthouse is located 8 miles off the coast of County Cork and is Ireland’s most southerly point. During the mass emigration that occurred during Irelands potato famine of the 19th century, it became known as “Irelands Teardrop” as it was the last part of Ireland many of these Irish people would ever see again. This was my inspiration for painting this piece and I dedicate it to all those who paved the way for so many Irish that followed.

Fastnet is found on the most southerly point of Ireland, off the coast of County Cork. The lighthouse, which is the highest in Ireland, is known as “Ireland’s Teardrop” as it is the last part of Ireland that emigrants could see as they sailed from Cork to America, particularly in the 19th century.
Fastnet Rock rises 30 metres above low water mark and the Little Fastnet is separated from the main rock by a 10 metre channel.
Fine Art Print hand signed and titled by the artist, made in Ireland.
